Happy Music Monday everybody!
Music Monday happens every year on the first Monday in May. It's a day where schools, community groups and people all over Canada get together and celebrate making music in some way. At Savory, we have participated byway of our Music Monday Concert which, sadly, cannot happen this year. But don't despair! You can all find some way of enjoying and making music today and Music Monday will live on.

April 30th:

Check out Rhythm Maker in the Online Activities. One click gets you straight to a fun program that everyone can use. Stay tuned for some upcoming info on Song Maker along with a showcase of completed songs by Mr. Showers' class.

Instrument Building Challenge!

The Task: Build an instrument using any available materials you have at home such as garbage, recycling or random objects that you are allowed to use. Your instrument should be able to make at least two sounds (pitched or non-pitched).

Share your instrument with the world: If you would like to show off your creation, send me a photo or a video and I can post them here on the website so we can all see the cool things people are making!

Need some inspiration?

The Landfill Harmonic is an amazing orchestra in Paraguay that has kids playing music on instruments made from trash!

The String Drummer is an instrument my son Cove made. It's pretty simple, but makes some nice sounds!
